Please join me in congratulating Khanyisa for once again notching up a TSiBA first! Khanyisa was part of our first “Pioneering Intake”, was our first “Top Student 2005”, our first “Top Graduate 2008” and our first Mandela Rhodes Scholar (an award that gave him access to the BCom (Hons) Finance at UWC). He was also our first employee at JP Morgan – setting the foundation for what has become a flagship career choice for over 30% of TSiBA graduates currently employed at financial institutions. In September, Khanyisa became our first graduate to successfully pass his GMAT and to be accepted into an MBA programme. Khanyisa will study at the Berlin European School of Management Technology(ESMT).
Bhabha Khayelitsha! Go fly South Africa! Indeed, could there be a more special time to consider the wise words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. TSiBA will keep the memory of Madiba close while we strive to keep doing all we can for the leaders of tomorrow.
This is the 9th prestigious student award in the 5 years since TSiBA's first Bachelor Degree qualifications were conferred. To date TSIBA has produced 5 Mandela Rhodes Scholars, 2 Allan Gray Orbis Candidate Fellows and 2 Kofi Annan Fellows.
As we prepare to close off 2013, we are grateful to be able to look back at our 9th consecutive year of successfully producing graduates from both our campuses. TSiBA Eden, a jewel in the rural education landscape, recently achieved an impressive Gold Impumelelo Award . Cape Town launched the Postgraduate Diploma in Small Enterprise Consulting – seen as the industry standard on how to mentor entrepreneurs. TSiBA also expanded its reach beyond SA’s shores with the establishment of our UK and Swiss Trusts.
Keep your eye on our websitein 2014 for many more TSiBA firsts – Night School, tablets, flipped classrooms and a first partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and The Foschini Group …. All this while partnering with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism making 900 unemployed youngsters in the Western Cape work-ready…!
Do have a look at ourannual reportsto read about the transformation that TSiBA’s programmes are igniting in all our stakeholders’ lives.
Thanks to your support we will continue to help weave the fabric of a strong and healthy society through education.
I wish you a peaceful holiday season and an excellent 2014.
