What is PG Dip SEC?

At the Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSiBA), we specialise in developing leaders and entrepreneurs who will take South Africa forward.

We understand the need for a course aimed specifically at those people who work closely with entrepreneurs and small business owners.

This is why we are offering an accredited Post Graduate Diploma in Small Enterprise Consulting.

This unique course is being developed through our vast experience in the entrepreneurial space and there is nothing quite like it on the market.  We have formalised our industry experience and created a specialised academic offering.

PG Dip SEC is a paid-for course launched in 2013.

As TSiBA is a not-for-profit company, the course fees will be ploughed back into TSiBA to cover scholarships for more students.

Who is PG Dip SEC for?

PG Dip SEC is for managers, leaders, coaches, mentors and consultants with an interest in helping the growth and development of entrepreneurial activity.  People who help small business owners start, grow and develop their businesses to ensure they are profitable and sustainable.

What does the course cover?

The course consists of six core modules with one elective plus an experiential learning component:

• Entrepreneurship
• Applied Coaching and Mentoring
• Entrepreneurial Finance
• Leadership
• Business Communication and Information Management
• Legal and Regulatory Environment of Business

Electives

• Global Business
• Social Entrepreneurship

Experiential learning

• Small Enterprise Consulting

PG Dip SEC has a strong experiential learning component which is modelled around Small Enterprise Consulting and takes place throughout the programme. Students will select entrepreneurs for their experiential learning component.  Students will consult with their chosen entrepreneur (typically up to small scale level) after each block release of course work.  In the process, students understudy the entrepreneurial journey and support them using acquired tools in business fundamentals, entrepreneurial creativity, leadership, mentoring and coaching.  If a student is unable to select an entrepreneur, TSiBA will assist them in finding a suitable one.
