TSIBA specialises in purpose driven business education in a supportive learning community.

TSIBA Business School (registered with the DHET as TSIBA Education NPC) is an accredited higher education institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate business qualifications.

The Business School aims to provide its students with a world-class and rewarding business education. This is supported by generous tuition scholarships which enable students to contribute towards their tuition at relative levels of affordability.

All TSIBA accredited qualifications have Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) recognition.

Return on investment since inception in 2004 through our Business School includes over 4500 annual tuition fee scholarships awarded, over 2000 students directly impacted and a post-graduate employment rate of over 90%. Eight TSIBA students have been awarded Mandela Rhodes Scholarships. The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship is Africa’s most prestigious scholarship awarded to aspiring post-graduate scholars across the continent on the basis of academic excellence, entrepreneurship, leadership and reconciliation. This follows the awarding of 3 Kofi Annan and 4 Allan Gray Orbis Fellowships to TSIBA students, all of whom have gone on to postgraduate studies at other academic institutions.

TSIBA is a member of the United Nations (UN) Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The TSIBA Board elevates TSIBA’s standing by virtue of their specialist expertise and reputation.

Fatima Abrahams has chaired the TSIBA Board since its inception in 2004. She holds a Doctorate in Commerce in Industrial Psychology, and currently serves as a Senior Professor in the Department of Industrial Psychology at the University of the Western Cape. Professor Abrahams is a registered Industrial Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HCPSA), and previously served as a member of the Education Committee of the board. Fatima is currently a non-executive director of a number of companies, including Foschini Group, Lewis Group, Clicks Group, Iliad Africa and BPSA.

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

Lunga, a 2014 TSIBA graduate, is the Assistant Group CSI Manager at the Shoprite Group of Companies, Africa’s largest retail group. He is responsible for driving and implementing the Group’s efforts in line with the company strategy as well acting as the company spokesperson on certain issues. In 2016, Lunga was named one of Barclays’ 100 brightest young minds and joined its annual conference.

Professor Milford Soko teaches International Business and Strategy at Wits Business School, and is a former
Director of UCT Graduate School of Business. He holds a BSoc Sci degree from the University of Cape Town, an MA in International Studies from the
University of Stellenbosch, as well as an MA and a Doctorate in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. His doctoral thesis examined the political economy of trade policy reform in post-apartheid South Africa.

Leigh is a TSIBA co-founder and held the position of TSIBA Managing Director between 2006 and 2012. Since then Leigh has remained as a TSIBA Board member. Leigh conceptualised TSIBA’s Leadership Curricula as a fundamental component of the learning experience offered through all TSIBA programmes. Leigh holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Value and Policy Studies from Stellenbosch University and has a Masters degree in Higher Education Studies (University of Cape Town) .

Ntoza holds a master's degree in Business Leadership (MBL) and is currently a PhD candidate. Ntoza joins TSIBA with significant generalist Human Resources experience leading HR teams in the private, public and higher education sector having held senior HR positions in Old Mutual, University of Western Cape and currently as Executive Director: Human Resources at Nelson Mandela University.

Simon Susman is the Honorary President of Woolworths Holdings Limited, having joined Woolworths in 1982. Prior to his retirement, Simon served as the Chief Executive Officer of Woolworths Holdings and then Chairman over a twenty year period until 2019. He was recently appointed Honorary Professor of Entrepreneurship at Stellenbosch University Business School. Simon currently also chairs a number of local and international businesses and NGO’s.

Professor Deresh Ramjugernath has a BScEng (Chemical) degree from the University of Natal, which he obtained in 1993. He graduated with a PhD in Engineering (Chemical) from the University of Natal in 2001. He is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Learning and Teaching at Stellenbosch University. Prior to his appointment at Stellenbosch University Professor Ramjugernath was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research, and Pro Vice-Chancellor: Innovation, Commercialization and Entrepreneurship at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
