Student Development & Support

Lindelwa Hanjana
SRC Advisor

A student-centric focus is at the heart of the Student Development and Support Department. Knowing the many challenges and sacrifices involved in balancing full-time studies and life’s demands. This Department offers services that aim to maximise a positive student experience and ensure continual student wellness.

Services include anytime access to two qualified counsellors, who provide individual counselling for students experiencing emotional, learning, relational or contextual challenges. Student wellness initiatives such as workshops, Paying It Forward activities and mindfulness training help students remain physically and mentally healthy.

A credit-bearing element of student life at TSIBA is participation in the mentorship programme. Every student is allocated a trained mentor, who, through regular contact, provides the student with a wide range of experiences and opportunities.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL:

The Student Representative Council (SRC) aims to create a vibrant student life and a sense of community among the TSIBA students, on and off campus; the student-centred culture allows our future business leaders to develop their vibrant voices, in respect and honour of our shared values.

Clubs and Societies:

The Cycling Team

The team shows the impact individuals can trigger in society! If not training to raise funds for scholarships, the Team is teaching aspiring cyclists how to ride or marshalling Bike Buses at Open Streets!

The Chess Club

From increasing problem-solving skills to promoting creativity, the benefits of chess are countless. Engage in strategic games that will help you excel academically and enhance your concentration!

The Sports Club

Soccer, cricket and netball seasons begin in March and continue until October each year, with weekly games at the Montague Arena. Whether on campus or at Open Streets, the Sports Club is always up for a match!

The Book Club

Started by an inspired TSIBA student who realised the critical role of reading in his academic improvement, the club meets monthly to discuss short stories by South African & International authors.

Black Management Forum

Benefits of joining BMF include access to a professional network of established business leaders, potential job opportunities and invites to BMF special events.

Enactus

Guided by Student Development and supported by business leaders, the Enactus club at TSIBA applies entrepreneurial strategies to make a sustainable impact on communities.
