Since its inception in 2007, the Ignition Centre is a leading entrepreneurial service hub that offers education and training in business, career management and computer literacy as well as business mentorship and incubation support for grassroots businesses.

The centre plays a transformative role by empowering beneficiaries to 1) start up their own businesses or obtain suitable employment, 2) take their existing small businesses to the next level to ensure sustainable livelihoods and 3) strengthen small business to enable job creation and growth. In addition to strengthening the social fibre of the communities they serve, TSiBA Ignition Centres offer a platform for unique and powerful collaboration between provincial government, the business community and civil society.

The Ignition Centre’s mission is to be an innovative mentoring community that develops confident entrepreneurs who earn sustainable livelihoods, create jobs and drive economic and social prosperity.

Leading Financial Sustainability

A fresh, high-impact programme for leaders of Not-for-Profit Companies.

The move towards income generation and non-donor reliance are an ongoing, but essential journey as not-for-profits increasingly realise that business models should be sustainable. This programme is for leaders of not-for-profit companies (NPCs) who are deeply committed to the continued impact of their organisations and recognise the critical need to structure their businesses to incorporate new (non-donor) revenue models to ensure financial sustainability.

The success of our model relies on the generosity of our supporters. The TSiBA Ignition Centre Support Model (above) favors a holistic approach to empowering entrepreneurs that is held together by business mentorship, the axis around which our unique model of support revolves. TSiBA’s Ignition Centres address the two major factors that inhibit the growth of SMME’s in South Africa today: (1) lack of resources and (2) insufficient managerial talent.

The Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSiBA) was founded in 2004 with a vision to “Ignite Opportunity”.  Our mission is to be an innovative learning community that graduates entrepreneurial leaders who ignite opportunity and social change.
