The Postgraduate Diploma in Small Enterprise Consulting (PG Dip SEC) is an 18-month modular experiential learning programme offered exclusively by TSiBA. This accredited programme consists of six core courses and 1 elective. The core courses are; Entrepreneurship, Coaching and Mentoring, Leadership, Legal & Regulatory Environment of Business, Entrepreneurial Finance and Business Communication. Including a choice of one out of two elective courses which are: Global Entrepreneurial Business and Social Entrepreneurship.
All of these courses are integrated into a capstone research project in Small Enterprise Consulting and students are required to work with an entrepreneur who is registered in and supported by the TSiBA Ignition Centre for the duration of the programme.
The research project combines academic and experiential learning that encapsulates the learnt and acquired skills and training of the students into a consultant’s report. The consultant’s report must be rigorous, yet practical enough for the entrepreneur to apply to their business. This is an important part of the learning process as the entrepreneur is entrusting both TSiBA and our students with their passion and the details surround their business. It is this unique methodology that differentiates the PG Dip SEC in the market and offers personal and professional growth opportunity for both the student consultant and the entrepreneur.
In the 5 years that TSiBA has been offering this qualification, it has established a solid relationship with an international partner organisation, B360. This Zurich based organisation has cooperation agreements with three universities in the Southern African sub-region. These agreements are with the Namibian University of Science and Technology in Windhoek (NUST), the University of Zambia in Lusaka(UNZA) and of course, TSiBA Education is SA. As part of this cooperation agreement, we’ve hosted volunteer lecturers on the PG Dip SEC programme from the UK, Greece, Germany, and Switzerland, all with appropriate postgraduate qualifications from the universities of Cambridge, Lucerne, St Gallen and Basel.
Many of the volunteer lecturers are in different senior positions with Credit Suisse, the second largest bank in Switzerland and ranked as the best in the sector of investment banking and within the private banking sector, affording students the added benefit of relevant, international corporate insights and exposure.
