Dear Friends of TSIBA
Following seventeen years of service as the TSIBA Education (now TSIBA Business School) Board Chairperson, the tenure of Professor Fatima Abrahams will end in June of this year. We are delighted and proud to announce that TSIBA Co-Founder, Gia Whitehead, will succeed Professor Abrahams in the role of TSIBA Board Chair.
“I have been a part of this incredible TSIBA journey almost right from the start, before we even enrolled our first students,” shared Fatima in her communication on the transition to TSIBA Staff and Board colleagues. “It has been a great privilege, honour and joy to have served in this capacity, and my heartfelt thanks and gratitude goes to all fellow TSIBA Board Members, Staff and Donors who have contributed so much to build this wonderful institution”.
Incoming TSIBA Board Chairperson Gia Whitehead added that she felt “greatly humbled to take on a role with such big shoes to fill”. “Fatima has held this position with great care and dedication over the years” says Gia, “whilst remaining true to delivering quality graduates who will make an impact in the world”
“Taking on this role means so much to me as TSIBA begins to leave its teenage years with strong successes and credibility, and can now move into its next phase for growth, capacity building and academic rigor. I’m thrilled to be able to facilitate and guide an institution which holds so much of my heart.”
“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together” Gia added, quoting Vincent van Gogh, a mantra which Gia says “will guide her to continue to build a sustainable institution of high regard, and for the continuation of driving our vision”.
Please join the TSIBA community as we thank Fatima for her selfless service, and as we pledge our support to Gia for this exciting new journey.
